Music is and has been my main gig: playing saxophone, writing and
arranging, recording, teaching privately, and conducting school
ensembles.
Playing.
I started playing saxophone when I was six, and studied under
Australian jazz greats such as Judy Bailey, Bill Motzing, Craig
Scott, Dale Barlow, Dave Theak, Adrian Cunningham and Col
Loughnan. I've played with John Morrison's Swing City, the Jeff
Duff Big Band,
The Soul Predators,
where I co-wrote and arranged music, and more recently
Strange Rooster.
Education.
I teach saxophone privately and conduct school big bands and wind
bands, work that has taken student ensembles to Japan, New
Zealand, Adelaide, Tasmania and many NSW locations. I co-founded
Pocket Tutor, software for music educators running private
teaching studios, and wrote
Riding Through The Wild West for
beginner concert band.
Recorded examples.
